Rundeck for Mac
The other half.
The Mac app is what your iPhone talks to. It lives in the menu bar, uses almost nothing while you are not looking, and is free.

macOS 26 or later · Apple silicon or Intel
Set it up
- Open the disk image and drag Rundeck to Applications, then open it. Its window appears once; after that it sits in the menu bar.
- Allow Accessibility. System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility → turn on Rundeck. This is what lets the phone move the pointer, click and type.
- Pair your iPhone. Open Rundeck on the iPhone, choose this Mac, and allow it when the Mac shows the same four-digit code.
Optional permissions
- Screen Recording — for the magnifier lens and for taking screenshots from the phone. Asked for the first time you use either.
- Coding agents — to see and answer Claude Code sessions, Rundeck adds a small hook to Claude Code's settings. Switch Coding agents off in Rundeck's settings on the Mac to leave Claude Code untouched.
Rundeck talks to your iPhone over your local network. Use it on networks you trust — at home or at work, not on café Wi-Fi.
Start at login
Rundeck's Settings on the Mac has a switch to start it when you log in, off by default.
Uninstall
Quit Rundeck from the menu bar and move it to the Bin. Its settings live in ~/Library/Application Support/Rundeck; delete that folder to remove paired iPhones too.
